Monogrammed Crystal

When we monogram crystal wedding gifts for newlyweds, the most commonly asked question we hear is ‘Whose initial goes on the left of the last name initial? Is it the bride’s or the groom’s?’ Well, there is really no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ answer – we always suggest you put the initial of the person you know best on the left; but then again, we’re not Miss Manners. In the Middle Ages, artists and artisans used monograms to identify and sign their work, while in Victorian England, monograms were a status symbol employed by high society types to signify their social standing.

In summation: monograms were used to identify rulers, by artists and the upper classes – wouldn’t this mean that they are perfect for you? And doesn’t the concept of a crystal goblet, festooned with your monogram, make you lick your lips in anticipation of sipping from the cup?
